After the announcement of the Ministry being taken over, the Death Eaters are approaching the Burrow, where the wedding is being held. But Hermione, Ron and Harry disapparates away from here to get to safety. While planning their trip at a café, they are ambushed by death eaters and deals with them surprisingly well. Then they go to Sirius Black's former house to look for answers.
Once they get there, they find out that the house has been searched, and they assume that it is by death eaters. Later they find out that the person that they've been looking for with the initials R.A.B is actually Sirius' brother. The house elf Kreacher turned out to know his story. Regulus, as his name was, found the horcrux, just as Dumbledore did in the last book. Regulus died as he was dragged into the water by the same creatures as Harry was saved from.
