In Chapter 7 the gang is surprised by the Minister of Magic. He shows up and tells them that Albus Dumbledore left them something in his will. He gives Ron the Deluminator, which can capture and store any light. Hermoine gets a copy of the book called "The Tales of Beedle and the Bard" which turns out to be a famous wizard book. Harry gets the snitch that he caught in his first game of Quidditch, and he is also supposed to get the Sword of Gryffindor, but the Minister says that he can't have it because it didn't really belong to Dumbledore
Chapter 8 is about the wedding of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour's wedding. In this chapter the only significant thing that happens is that they get told that the Minister of Magic is dead, and that the Ministry is now being controlled by Voldemort. This makes their mission a lot harder, because the won't have the Ministry to help them. Instead they are trying to stop them.
